Girl Scout Troop 34

Front: Erin Mid (l-r): Savanna, Rachel Back (l-r): Megan, Kasey, Victoria
Girl Scout Troop 34, sponsored by Inman First Freewill Baptist Church, serves their community in a special way. These Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes in grades 3-7 spend one Saturday every month with their “adopted grandparents” at the Camp Care Home in Inman. In addition to playing games, making crafts and entertaining, the girls and adult leaders have developed strong friendships with the residents. “It’s fun to visit them and they’re so happy when we come in,” says Victoria, who started the program last year through her Girl Scout Bronze Award project, Bridging the Gap. “The girls learn about leadership by planning and working together. Then they practice leadership on each visit to Camp Care,” explains Cathy Olsen, troop leader. The girls are looking forward to their upcoming talent show, when they will perform for the residents – then the residents will perform for them. Thanks, Troop 34, for serving our community!

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Join us as we celebrate community!
